A New Mexico teen can be hailed as a hero after she jumped into action to save a drowning toddler.
Kaydence Henslee, 13, was on a spring break vacation with her family at Walt Disney World when she noticed a small child floating face down in the deep end of a pool.
She told KRQE she was scared but she jumped into the water on instinct.
Kaydence rescued Haven Williams, 3.
“When I pulled her out, her lip was purple,” Kaydence told KRQE.

Haven’s mother Ashley Williams told the news station she had stepped away from the pool for a few minutes.
“I just remember seeing another woman run across and yell into the bar area for someone to call 911 because a baby had just drowned,” Williams told KRQE. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I didn’t think it was my baby.”
Then she noticed the child who had been rescued was wearing her daughter’s swimsuit.
A bystander performed CPR and Haven was taken to a local hospital where she recovered the next day.
“Even the doctors are saying that whoever got her out of the water did it at a perfect time because if she would have been under the water a little longer, it would have been a different outcome,” Williams said.
The two families are staying in touch after the ordeal, KRQE reported.
