A synopsis of the pilot, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, reads, “It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.”

It is unclear whether Bakula will be involved in the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Stockwell, who played Adm. Al Calavicci in all 97 episodes of the show and won a Golden Globe Award in 1990, died on Nov. 7. He was 85.

In September, Bakula said there were “significant conversations” about a revival.

“There’s very significant conversations about it right now going on,” Bakula said during a Sept. 20 podcast with Bob Saget, who died last week. “I don’t know what it would be. I don’t know who would have it. The rights were a mess for years. I don’t know if they’re even sorted out now. That’s always been the biggest complication.”

Creator Don Bellisario is on board for the revival as executive producer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are showrunners. Pratt and Martin Gero are also executive producers, according to the website.
