Intoxicated woman charged after kicking Pennsylvania state trooper, complaint alleges

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. — A Johnstown woman might not remember much of what transpired Saturday night, but the Pennsylvania State Trooper she kicked in the chest won’t soon forget the encounter.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were called to a dispute at a Railroad Street home in South Fork Borough.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered Loretta Woodruff, 51, substantially intoxicated and claiming she had been punched by a man at the home. The man, however, told officers that Woodruff tumbled down the steps, and troopers determined her injuries were more consistent with his account, WJAC reported.

Emergency transport was summoned because Woodruff sustained a head injury prior to the troopers’ arrival, and as they were escorting her out of the home she reportedly said, “Watch this,” and kicked a trooper square in the chest, the TV station reported.

According to the criminal complaint, Woodruff has been charged with aggravated assault, and she remains housed in the Cambria County Prison after being unable to post bail.
