In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, it apparently gets to the destination, even if it is the police who have to get it there.

Anastasia Elsinger, 24, had ordered lunch through DoorDash but when her driver stopped blocks from her home, she never planned on actually receiving it.

She saw police lights flashing and assumed that it was her driver who had been pulled over.

She was right on that count, but she was wrong when it came to her delivery.

A short time later, a police officer showed up at her door.

“He just said, like, ‘I know I’m not who you’re expecting but your DoorDash driver got arrested for some things they didn’t take care of,’” Elsinger told the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.

Officer Sam Buhr handed over Elsinger’s Arby’s order and her drink.

Police spokesperson Sam Clemens had a good laugh, saying “We had a report of an officer who was moonlighting as a DoorDash employee while on duty,” the Argus Leader reported.

Clemens told Dakota News Now, “The little things like this, going above and beyond and helping people out, that’s the things that we do.”

Video of the “lunch by a cop” delivery has been shared on social media and has garnered more than 10 million views and 4.5 million likes on TikTok alone.
