Norwegian Cruise Line Threatens To Skip Florida’s Ports Over Ban On COVID Vaccination Requirements

Norwegian Cruise Line might not be coming to Florida.

This is because the city’s governor signed legislation banning businesses from requiring that customers show proof of a COVID vaccination.

The company argues that the law is at odds with guidelines from federal health authorities that will let cruise ships sail in U.S. waters if all aboard are vaccinated.

Norwegian’s CEO said in a statement, “It is a classic state-versus-federal-government issue. Lawyers believe that federal law applies and not state law, but I’m not a lawyer.”

He said that if the companies can’t operate in Florida, they will go to other states or the Caribean. He also added, “We certainly hope it doesn’t come to that.”
